Communication, understanding and trust are critical elements in building a strong network of support. In your free consultation appointment you will sit down with Brianne Flaherty and share more about your experiences. Our team of Counsellors are diverse and passionate about healing. We will connect you with the Counsellor who best meets your needs and create a custom treatment plan to support you on your recovery journey.

During this time we will review intake forms, the therapy process and details of your unique experience. All intake forms will be provided to you prior to our first session together; here I will explain the forms in detail and support any questions you may have. We will then explore your journey and how our time together will positively support your recovery.

Self-destructing thought patterns and behaviours interfere with your ability to acquire skills and thrive in a positive and healthy relationship. Change needs to occur. Change is unique to each person and it is during our time together where you can safely and confidentially explore what change means to you. I will help you to embrace your courage and voice your concerns so that you can gently be guided towards the goals you've created for yourself. Each session is unique and tailored to your life experiences.

The devastating effects from addiction equally impacts friends and family. Unhealthy responses and relationships with your loved ones can come from a place of isolation and fear. During our time together we will work to bring back and create an open and loving connection with your loved one. Self-exploration in combination with education will create space to develop accountability, healthy boundaries and empowerment.

My approach is one of total confidentiality throughout your consultation and treatment. Remaining true to my expertise, I seek to hear and identify your needs in order to support a comprehensive recovery plan. Service navigation, beyond my services, can feel arduous and intimidating. My Case Management services will alleviate the pressures of seeking additional support. I will advocate for your needs and align you with providers in your community.

The detoxification process is an important step in recovery. Although each recovery journey is as unique as the person, and it is not a requirement to engage in our services, removing toxins from your body initiates the healing process.

Emotional Withdrawal Symptoms may include:

  • Irritability

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Restlessness

Physical Withdrawal Symptoms may include:

  • Sweating

  • Headache

  • Tremors

  • Nausea

Dangerous Withdrawal Symptoms may include:

  • Hallucinations

  • Seizures

  • Stroke

  • Heart Attack

Detox can range between 7-10 days and arise differently for each person. A medically supervised detox can reduce the risk of dangerous withdrawal symptoms, and decrease the intensity of physical and emotional discomfort. During the Consultation you are assessed to determine the best treatment option.

Daily Individual Counselling sessions are available during this process to support your emotional needs.
